Microcapvalue.com was founded in order to bring visibility to overlooked publicly traded companies with market capitalizations of under $300 million. These companies are usually overlooked by Wall Street, because they are too small for most institutions and/or offer relatively little commission income or investment banking fee potential. All research on Wall Street is designed to bring in fees. In my experience, the fundamentals of a company are a secondary issue. They have many mouths to feed and they must make money. Microcaps offer the potential for extremely high returns. Many of the booming technology companies of today started out as Microcaps. Of course, many do not survive or offer poor returns. In our mind, Microcaps represent the entrepreneurial spirit of American capitalism. Over the long haul, they also represent the best returns of any equity category. These companies have been neglected lately in favor of large and medium capitalization companies, which in many cases are richly priced in relation to their forward growth potential. The internet has empowered individuals to trade small volumes at low commissions. We are here to provide fundamental equity research of Microcaps. We try to present companies in a clear, easy to understand format for individual investors. Fundamentals do matter over the long haul. We, of course, must be compensated for our work. It may be through a position purchased in the stock or by the company. This is probably the best way for these small companies to present their story. In all cases, we will strive to present fair, fundamental research for our readers. We will always disclose our motivation for researching these companies.
